moi: An Agent-Generated Personal Software Workspace

Alexey Taktarov
2026-08

Acerca de

Source-available local workspace where AI agents build and reshape persistent UI around a user's project. moi gives Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, and Hermes a skill-driven interface for creating live widgets, dashboards, canvases, and full views wired to files, commands, APIs, databases, and MCP servers, with the generated software stored in the workspace filesystem.

Resumen

Why moi Adds New Signal:

1. Agent-generated workspace: The agent creates and revises the surrounding interface instead of only rendering components inside a chat reply
2. Persistent personal software: Widgets and full views remain as code in the workspace filesystem rather than disappearing with a conversation turn
3. Real data connections: Generated surfaces can use local files, commands, APIs, databases, and MCP servers
4. Harness-agnostic direction: Supports Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, and Hermes through reusable agent integrations
5. Substantive release signal: v0.10.0 added chat-to-view annotations, persistent sketch state, automatic harness detection, and workspace update flows
